Early Morning House Fire Kills Juvenile, Dog In Falls Church

A house fire in Fairfax County took the lives of a juvenile and a dog on Tuesday, September 6, officials said.

At around 1:45 a.m., firefighters reported to the home in the 6600 block of Barrett Road to extinguish the blaze, according to the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department.

Two occupants and one dog were pulled from the fire and given medical attention, authorities said.

One of the occupants, a juvenile, died at the hospital and the other occupant was in critical condition, fire officials said.

A dog was also reported dead after the incident, authorities said.

Fire investigators remained on the scene to gather more information about the incident, officials said.
